Mission
Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the A.f.Knotts Public Library, Inc. of Yankeetown and Inglis is a non-profit organization whose members are dedicated to promoting the library, it’s growth, and it’s educational and enrichment grograms, all crucial to assuring that we can continue to have this precious resource in our community.
Yankeetown and Inglis are fortunate to have a public library in the community. The programs and services offered for education and enrichment depend heavily upon the FRIENDS volunteers who raise funds with their membership fees, donations, memorial contributions and by sponsoring fundraising book sales and programs.
What do the Friends do?
FRIENDS help promote and develop library services to the public.
FRIENDS raise funds for specific needs above those covered in the library budget and help support the maintenance and upkeep of the library facility.
FRIENDS organize and sponsor special library porgrams and activities including: fascinating speakers, book discusion groups, and “Filmology”, a movie night with pop corn and discussion.
FRIENDS sponsor bi-annual book sales and help donate books to our armed servies and incarceration programs.
FRIENDS volunteer their time and energy to assist the many library services.
